IDM's Teen book reviewer is back with another great page turner. Maeve E. Gillette is champion Irish dancer who earned medals at the All Irelands, NAN’s, and other major competitions. She achieved her dream of dancing at the Worlds before hanging up her Irish dance shoes but never lost her love of dance. She continued dancing competitively as a four-year varsity dance team member and two-year captain of her high school team. “Dance competitions are stressful, shares Maeve, and reading a great book allows you to be invited to a world that distracts you from the stressors of competition.” Still involved with Irish dancing through her work with IDM, 19-year-old Maeve is studying at the University of Michigan’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. We hope you enjoy her reading suggestions.
