On Wednesday, February 14 a tragic shooting occurred at the Douglas high school in Parkland, Florida, when a former student indiscretionly opened fire killing 14 students and 3 teachers. Among the victims was 14-year old Cara Loughran, a student at the Drake School of Irish Dance. According to her TC, Chrissy Deacy, "Cara was a beautiful soul and always had a smile on her face."
How can you help the family of 14 year old Cara Loughran? This senseless act of violence against one of Irish Dancing's own young dancers and her many classmates should never have happened.
We are asking our Irish Dancing community to pray for Cara's family and support the GoFundMe campaign in her honor. Also, please tell your political representatives America needs change NOW to current gun laws.
IDM, along with all those in our Irish Dancing community, send our deepest condolences to Cara's family and friends during this very sad time.
If you would like to directly contribute to a GoFundMe campaign for Cara's family and other things the family needs, please visit https://www.gofundme.com/IrishDanceLovefortheLoughrans
