I am getting bad grades lately in English, Algebra, and Sociology. I tried asking for help in each subject but that still doesn't help.

I don't know if it is possible, but what I do is to try to prepare for the lessons. Before my lessons start I try to read some and make some questions about the subject so I can understand everythig better.

Does your teacher give you study guides before tests? Those always help me a lot. If they don't, make your own by going over everything you've learned in that class. Make a list of the things that are hard for you to remember or that seem important and then just read that list every day. Sometimes, just writing things down makes it easier to remember, even if you don't have time to go over it much.

Flashcards help a lot if you're needing to memorize definitions. Also, memory games are helpful. www.freerice.com has some good vocabulary quizzes, and it also has a grammar section. You can probably find similar websites online for algebra, although I'm not sure about sociology.

I totally agree with dancing Dutchman, by preparing a little bit before it can make the learning process in class better. I used to be a student who would get overwhelmed and put off study and preparation because I didn't think it would make a difference. But trust me doing that small amount of preparation can make a huge difference, to your actual learning and also confidence in the classroom. Also like Heidegger has said flash cards are a great study tool. There are also lots of learning games that you can find on the Internet or even download as an app :)

My tip is that you get a textbook at home to study. You can just read them as much as you want to make sure you understand. Make sure they have the same method your teachers teach though. And ask your parents for help. They're nice and understanding. They're sure to help you out.
Good luck!
