Hey guys! I just got back from a feis and my teacher told me that I have now earned my solo dress. This is where I need ur help. What should i look for in a dress or what type of design should it be ( if I create it):)

something that suits you..it does depend on ur level and age
but i go for a colour that compliments ur hair and skin colour and mainly a colour u like...after all its gonna cost a lot...u want something ur gonna love

also the lighter the better...heavy dresses like velvet get very hot...trust me lol

I wouldnt create it just yet becuz whenever you go to a feis there is always dresses for sale I would do that first!!!!!!!!!

If it is your first dress, a 3-panel with a simple design is a good starter dress :)

one thing i have to say it NO SEQUINS!!!!!!!! and NO SATIN!!!!!(it doesnt breath and everyone can see you sweat! ewww) or if you do want them put them in between the pleats. i have sequins on my dress and it is tearing up my sleeves and behind my panels when i put my arm down to dance. you can see my dress on my profile. LOOK THROUGH THE DANCE MAGAZINE that is how i found the solo that i have now. i found a dress and my teacher made a similar design. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

:eek: ok x i have just got a new dress...and to help me decide what to have on it, i went thorough some dress websites to get ideas, colours...etc. x i found this that i really like and my mum sent off the pattern to a dress maker/making company and they said that they'd have a look at it, change the pattern (so it was my own style dress) and then made it!! x

It depends what level you are at for innstence if you are in open you should concider getting a puffball skirt !
