I would say that you're probably a Novice dancer. I know about those dances and I'm in Novice

I only know a couple of those and I'm in Open Championships!!! It sounds like most of those dances are what novice dancers do though!!! I wish I knew that much!!! :D

Just because you know those dances, doesn't mean you belong in one particular level. It depends how well you do each dance.
Maybe ask your dance teacher, they'll be able to gage your level by your talent and skills.
Hope that helps! ^__^

i tried to ask this once, since i'm self-taught, but i don't guess anyone can really tell what level you'd be until they actually see you dance. why don't u post a video on youtube? i'm hoping i can do that soon. maybe i can get one of just my feet!! then you guys could tell me what level you think i'd be in too!!

THX this is a good idea. But I have to find someone who has a camera to tape me. I will tell when I have a video at "youtube".
But thank for the answers. So I can imagine what level i could be in. Hope I can dance at a real school soon an go to a feis.

Your level placement is not based on how many dances you know. Ask your teacher(s) about what level you're in. You should really know what level you're in. It's important.

I don't think it really matters what dances you now. If you have never competed you would still be a beginner because you have never been to feis

most of these are figure (team) dances. the traditionals (st pats day etc.) are the same for all levels. Are your solo dances (slip jig etc.) basic, slightly advanced or very advanced? levels also depend on the organisation.
An comisiun has bun grad(basic level), tus grad(starter level/ next up from bun), mean grad(1st advaced level), ard grad(advanced/top level).
An comdhail have beginners A(basic), beginners B (slightly advanced/intermediate), beginners C(advanced level 1), pre-open (advanced level 2), open (advanced level 3).

It's not about how many dances you know.. it's about how well you do them! Maybe you could do a feis, or you could video yourself dancing and we could tell you.

If you were dancing in An Coimisiun you would most likely be dancing in Adv. Beginner. Adv. Beginners should know the reel, slip jig, hornpipe, and treble jig which you mostly have. You've also been dancing for more than a year which disqualifies you as a normal beginner. The only way you could qualify for a higher level ( ie. novice, prizewinner, etc.) is by either winning first in your solos at a feis or by having your teacher specifically place you. However, this is my opinion. I've never seen you dance, but your teacher has. For the most correct answer I would say ask your teacher.

Just because you know a lot of dances doesn't actually mean that you are in that level, its how well you dance them. I would say you could be in Novice.
