What sort of food do you eat? Anything in particular?
I know ballet dancers have to be really careful ... how about us?

Get plenty of protein, and fruits and vegetables. You don't need to be on a special diet though.

Not as much as ballerinas, but everyone should eat mostly healthy. I'm a vegetarian, so I eat a lot of fruits, vegtables and dairy, and I've heard that's very healthy because meat has a lot of fat, the only good thing it has in it is protein and you can get that from lots of other foods like broccoli and nuts and cheese.

What are your favourite energy snacks? I know sweets are good for sugar and that, but they've got a lot of fat...

I drink milk, eat cheese, and sometimes have chips for snacks. That depends on if we have anything.Of course if you are worried about fat chips wouldn't be good.

bread helps your stamina. really any carbs do... you should try pasta or something like that.

How about cereal bars? Any good ones around, or are they all sort of equal?
I know it seems like I'm fussing, but I'm honestly not. It's just that I was wondering what other people did, so...

That's good, because I eat a lot of pasta anyway, and usually it's when I get back from dance because it's quick to cook :)

i eat pita bread. i eat it everyday for a couple days leading up to the feis. i eat it with breakfast on the day of the feis. i bring a bag with me and after each dance i eat a little bite of it to give me a burst. it seems to work.

thats TOTALLY normal. i looked it up on google and it said that if you're 13 you should be in the height range of 5ft to 5 foot 3. and, it said you should weigh 95-105 pounds. for me, im 5 foot six ;)

Ballet dancers have to really watch what they eat because they need to be really thin or they're not allowed to dance. Irish dancers; no way! (Well, at least me. I am a fair bit bigger than a ballerina!) I do try to eat healthy but I'm not obsessive about it and I can still eat junk at a party or something.
Making simple changes to your diet can make a big difference; eat wholegrain bread instead of white, limit the amount of butter you use, have an apple if you feel like chocolate, drink water instead of soft drink...
My teacher told me that you eat pasta the night before a feis. The ideal breakfast is a healthy cereal but carbohydrates or fruit also work well.
