Yeah, I hate feises that make you wait around all day! At Winterfeis and ICHC, I had to wait FOOOORREVVER for results. It's more fun when you have friends to watch or hang out wth but I agree, I hate feises that make you sit around and wait all day. It's physically and mentally exhausting!!
I also have no patience for a feis that is not run well. Slow results, slow stages, poor quality awards, stuff like that. At winterfeis they stopped my competition twice - once to wait for a judge and the second time they stopped 2 girls IN THE MIDDLE OF THEM DANCING so the champ boy could go. It didn't make a lot of sense.

Same here about Winterfeis. I didnīt go to ICHC, but by noon at Winterfeis I had done 2 dances. Grr.

You want a way to make it less boring?
Start making Friends in your Age Group or Dancers who sit next to you in the Room.
I made two new Friends from the West Coast.
They are so NICE.
They go to Feis in Northern California but we told one of them that their is a Feis in Las Vegas,Nevada and they might go which I am happy about and we can chat and have FUN.
I just started doing this.
I mean why waste your time on the side of the Stage just standing there.
Make Friends that you will always see at Feis and maybe even at Oireachtas and so on.:)

Good tip! I do like to talk to the girls side stage sometimes. I meant more waiting for results though which is just in general. At least though I can go watch other friends dance.

I Know what you mean. Our dance school is really small- less than 20 dancers in the whole school not just a class and the girls I dance with are never at the same feiseanna as me. Or they are always dancing at a completely different time or on a different day. Also lots of the feiseanna I go to run late so instead of dancing at 5pm I will dance at 8pm and I live about 2 hours away from most feiseanna.
I have made a lot of friends at feiseanna and we can support each other which is cool. I am also lucky that my TCRG comes to most feiseanna to see me dance. Sometimes I wish there were more girls at my dance school the same age as me so we could go to feiseanna and stuff though. BUT I STILL LOVE DANCE <33333 :D

Sorry for the rant

Yeah same! I hate going to feises when you know none of your friends from your dance school OR none of your feis friends are there and you have to sit around talking to your Mum

It's bad when the feise's schedule is inaccurate so you end up staying there all day with nothing to do....

I hate boring feisanna, too!!! Here are some good ways to have fun at boring feisanna:
Bring a few books/magazines
Bring your iPhone/iPad/iPod
Spread out a big blanket and invite your feis friends to come chat
Bring money so you can buy things at the vendors
Practice if you haven't gone on-stage yet
Walk around to get your legs warm
Eat some food (Irish dancers tend to not eat at feisanna as they are nervous)
TRY NOT TO THINK ABOUT RESULTS, AS THAT WILL GET YOU VERY NERVOUS

Hope I helped. :)

the worst is the really late ones... someone should start a list of the best run feiseanna in all regions... then the ones that are always late may actually start doing something about it if less people compete there

Yeah! That would be a good idea, but I guess some people wouldn't care that much and go to the late-run feisanna anyway...

The worst is when a feis runs TWO HOURS behind schedule then takes a ONE AND A HALF HOUR LUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They also had a break in the afternoon. They crammed THREE STAGES into a small school gym!!!! Then they kept yelling at us about the noise level! If they didnt want it to be loud, they should've spaced out the stages!!!!!!!
