Hello from Georgielocks

Hi, I'm Georgielocks - my real name being Carrie-Ann. I'm pretty new to the IDM forums but would love you all to say hello!

I'm Mum to two dancing daughters and one non-dancing son (two left feet!) and learned to dance myself at the ripe old age of 27! I'm quite a bit older than that now and haven't been able to dance for about 5 years due to a foot injury. I live in hope that I'll be able to get back to it some time soon!

Hi. You know its never too late to introduce your son to Irish Music and Culture. Every Feis needs a good Musician!!! I have a sister who also dances but plays traditional Irish Fiddle although she was classically trained at age 8 for 3 years.

My son was introduced to Irish music and culture from the age of 7! He danced for a whole hour at the age of 8 and has avoided most of it ever since! He comes to the local Irish Festival every summer to help me set up my stall and he will come to watch his sisters when they are performing but not when they are competing (much too boring!). He did have to spend one of his birthdays at a feis and really wasn't very impressed! He won't even come to the Nationals any more!

He's not at all musical either, he doesn't even have enough rhythm for his sister's drum kit. He has Asperger's Syndrome and will not learn anything that doesn't interest him. Oh well, you can't win them all! At least he is proud of his sisters' achievements!
