Red face high kicks

My teacher told me that my kicks need to be a lot higher.

can you give me tips how i can practise that my kicks are a lot higher.
i can raise my leg about 60° from the floor. but I need 75-80°.

Do I have to do more for my flexi or do i have to make my legs stronger?

I need help!!!!!
My teacher makes trubble!!!

Default Strech and Work your Quads

The two things I did to make my high kicks better were to work on my flexiblity AND my quad strength. The point of working on your quads is to make your movements faster and more controlled. it might take a while to get your kicks where you want them but remember Practice makes perfect.

First of all. I wouldn't refer to them as 'kicks', think of them as lifts. Because when you think of them as kicks, you are likely to do just that, kick. Which I'm sure you know isn't right. you have to lift the whole leg. I've seen girls with incredible hight, except that they never win anything because they're kicking, and it soon wrecks your knees and looks yucky.
Shamrocks is right, the only way is practice. But a great way to practice is to put on some music that gets you moving. I mean, like, pop music, whatever you want. Then just practice the individual movments over and over again. But don't do too much the first few days, because you can really pull some muscles.

One thing that helped me get my lifts up are splits. Now this is probably where you say 'I can't do the splits'
But then niether could i at first!

Go as far as you can into the splits (front to back not side to side)
Hold yourself there for a bit then get up. Just do one or 2 every now and then...once or twice a day.

Each time you do it push yourself a little lower than the previous time, without straining yourself. Before you know it you will be doing the splits and lift will become a lot easier because you are that much more flexible.

On top of this you need to gain the strength in your muscles to be able to lift your leg!

You have to be careful when you do that though, you could hurt yourself if you slipped!

Also you've got to strengthen your core muscles so that you can hold your body upright while kicking high. Otherwise you may kindof collapse on yourself (Fold your torso down while trying to get your leg higher)
