Make sure your shoes are stretched so you can go all the way up. You can practice by holding on to a chair (make sure someone is in it) and go up and go in a squatting position (still on toes), if you do this every day you’ll be able to go up on toes!!!! You just have to practice really hard!!!! Hope I helped!!!

For help on toes I would hold onto the shoulders of a taller person, and have them walk around the room. You walk across the room to of course, and your toes will get easier. Also do lots of foot raises, which will help strengthen your ankles so that you can actually do toe walks.Foot raises are just where you raise up to demi pointe (up to the ball of your feet) and then back down.Start with like ten and then do twenty the next day.The ankle strengthening is probably most important so that you don't end up injuring your feet or ankles by sickling or taco toeing.Sorry if I gave you to much information. Toe walks have been my private study for the last few weeks. If you want pics of taco toeing or sickling I will try to find some. |

Sorry that I am double posting but I found this on dance.net and it has three exercises to strengthen ankles and arches, plus they are animated.Hopefully it will help.
http://.dance.net/topic/2211620/1...-ANIMATED.html The next one is photo exploration I found on dance.net, which might help you,as well as explain what a taco toe is if you don't know. http://.dance.net/topic/2211620/1...-ANIMATED.html I hope this helps you. ![]() |

When I learned to do toes, I too didn't get them automatically! In class, we held on to this pole to balance us and just put pressure on your front foot then the back foot. After awhile more balance will come. That worked for me!

Go inbetween a doorway and go up and down. I've been doing toe for almost a year and it took me a while (and some falls) to get it down. Make sure to keep your knees straight!

Depending on your shoes they might need more breaking in.
Also when you are really working toe work you tend to get huge blisters on the balls of your feet and the tops of your toes. So you might want to use something like an ouch pouch that ballerinas use for pointe shoes. ![]() |
