I sing mostly traditional (and a little bit of modern) Irish music, in addition to dancing. I'm hopeless at every instrument I've tried, except for voice.
I never have any chances to sing with accompaniment, though, since I haven't started voice lessons and don't perform, and I'm too timid to ask anyone I know who plays an instrument if they want to do a song or two together. ![]() Does anyone else sing traditional/contemporary Irish music? |

I LOVE traditional Irish music. I can puff out a few tunes on the tin whistle and I've tried the fiddle (which was a less successful endeavour), and I also love singing. Full marks to you - maybe one day I'll hear you sing in a pub in Ireland.

That would be awesome.
Thanks. My dance teacher plays the tin whistle, among other things, and I think it's a lovely instrument! And I think it was either the tin whistle or the low whistle that is played at the beginning of 'Reel Around The Sun.' But I'm getting off-topic here... XDWhat are your favourite traditional songs? I like 'Isle of Innisfree' (which I've got down pat by now) and 'The Last Rose of Summer' (which I really need to work on!). |

I play some instruments. I did one small performance with 2 other boys. We had to dance in a small bar and we did a couple of songs there. I played the bodhrán and tin whistle there. I know play some songs with my father.
