Smile Really Really Really Thick Hair!

Hi guys,
My hair is so thick I can't plait it, and I have about five 'normal-thickness' heads of hair on my whole head! I was wondering if there are any other people out there who are like me, and if they have any advice, cool ways to put it up, how to manage it well, e.t.c.

I'll start off...does anyone know some cool ways to put up thick hair, and I'm having trouble washing it properly, any advice?

Thanks!
Holly

I have really long thick heavy hair! I get it thinned every time I go to the hairdressers but it just grows back! I generally find it easier to tie my hair up. Some of my personal favourites are:
Two french plaits- Once you get the hang of it it's quite easy and your hair doesn't pull on your head then.
Simple poneytail/ bun
Never ending french braided bun: http://.youtube.com/watch?v=gC4VEFoilos
Fishtail plait http://.youtube.com/watch?v=FmnBu1-CR2o
A bun with a hair donut.
If i'm wearing my hair down I would take a little piece of hair from the top of my head and either twist it create a little bump and pin it or do a little french plait and pin it down.
I like doing different things with my hair so I find these things easy but you need to play around with your hair and find what your comfortable with

Default 7 steps

There are 87 steps to manage a thick hair like your:

1. Wash your hair with luke warm water. That way, your hair will relax. Don't try hot water, as it will damage your hair.

2. Apply a small amount of shampoo to the palms of your hand and massage on your hair. Use shampoo once and a while.

3. After you add the shampoo, add some conditioner to your hair and scalp and sit under a hair dryer (not on high)for at least 30 minutes. This will make your hair soft and manageable. It will also allow the conditioner to soak in your hair and scalp.

4. After 30 minutes, comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb. Start at the ends first, then to the middle and then to the scalp. This will make the hair de-tangle.

5. Wash your hair with ice cold water.

6. Air drying will make it more managable.

7. Comb your hair with a wide tooth comb or brush. Don't use a boar bristle brush, that may damage your hair and tear it out.

Cool! I'll try those hairstyles out and I'll try the seven steps next time I wash my hair. Thanks!
