I have somewhat big feet....I'm a size 9 in American sizes and in dance shoes i'm a 6.5 for soft and a 7 for hard. It doesn't seem like my feet are as easy to dance on as the smaller feet because I have a larger foot to lift
I also have somewhat long toes making it look like I'm 'resting' on the balls of my feet when I'm not....making it hard to appear high off of my heels... Any one else with big feet?? ![]() |

*waves hand in the air* me me! I'm a size 9.5 american, up to 10 in some shoes. and with monkey toes as well. I tilt my pelvis forward when I dance, it gives me a better arch on my toes and looks like my posture is faabulous.
I see it like this: those of us with big feet... we're less likely to be blown away in a wind storm and the water at the beach has more sand to corrode underneath us to make us fall |

I have really big feet too. Mom calls my shoes canoes. I just don't worry about it because those are the feet I have and there's nothing I can do about it. I'd never thought about it, but what you said may be true, it may make us look like we're not so high on our toes. I'll have to think about that. It's a very good point though because i get that comment sometimes even though my teachers sayy I get higher on my toes than anyone else. Maybe because my feet are big, from the stage it doesn't look that way!

So maybe this is why my teacher always tells me to get up on my to when I think I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! Well I guess there's nothing we can do about it. I have a 9 to 9.5 foot shoe american and a 6 in soft and a 5 1/2 in hard. Maybe you should get smaller shoes.

I have kind of big feet, until recently I wore size 8 american. Only now my feet are actually getting smaller! Every time I get new dance shoes, I go down a size, and at first that was because I kept on accidently getting shoes too big, but not anymore.

I have big feet too, American size 8.5. I never really thought about it as a problem before, but I can see what you mean about making it look like you're not on your toes...someone commented that I need to be up on my toes at my last feis and my teacher was like "Huh?" so maybe that was it...that kinda sucks :P

I wear a size 8 to 9 in American shoes. Also, I have a wide foot with a tiny heel- it is almost impossible to find comfortable shoes! In ballet, I can only wear one brand of pointe shoes. Luckily for me, my Irish dance shoes fit me perfectly.

I have also small feet, so it looks even bigger. Sometimes it's funny when I'm dancing the hornpipe.
But I don't have lots of trouble with it, only keeping my heels off the ground, but maybe it's just me. |
