I got interested in Riverdance when I was in kindergarten, [5] but didn't start 'till I was 6, two months before I turned 7. There are no age restrictions at my school. What school do you go to?

i started when i was 2 weeks from turning 13. Sure i am with little girls (7,8and 9) but i have learned everything and more than what they know in 1/2 a year than they have in 2 or 3 years. We think nothing of the age difference anymore. Sure sometimes its a bit of a confidence killer seeing girls my own age at higher levels, but i know that i will be up there one day. I really like this quote that i found witch matches my mood about my situation: "with every hop, every leap, every jump, every step, it ALL counts..i know its gonna take time, pain, blood, sweat and tears; ill make it to the top, you wait and see."

I started dancing when I was 5 or 6 or something, it was a long time ago, Okay? So I don't think that age restrictions make sense in terms of you cannot start period after this age. At my school we have an adult class, and if you're quite old, Like my freind from school who started this september, you can start in the adult class and then come to the intermediate classes where the kids are a bit older. It's handled on an individual bases. The main issue with my freind was that he's 6'3" and it would be hard to just start learning how to control your movements when your hop could kick the tallest kid in your classes face.
