I think we need a thread where we can talk about the roleplays without cluttering up each roleplay with side comments. So this shall be it!
I would like to suggest that we abandon 'On The Road To Glory' and 'The IAIA - Meath Campus.' In both cases, things have gotten so confuzzling that I'm not sure if anyone has any clue where the heck we are anymore! HOWEVER, if there is agreement over that point but howls of protest over abandoning them, why don't we just start over and see where it all takes us? Also, I would like to propose a few new ground rules for the roleplays: 1. Each post has to be at least five sentences, with the only exception being dialogue being written in real-time by two or more people. This will prevent us having to wade through page after page of one-line posts, which, trust me, gets incredibly annoying and leads us to what has happened recently: everyone deserting the roleplays because it's too frustrating to keep up with what's happening! 2. Proper grammar and spelling. Zero exceptions. Please, I know you just want to unwind when you come on here, but if you could observe the grammatical rules of the English, and, if applicable, Irish languages, then it will save those of us who hate seeing words butchered and punctuation murdered a LOT of headaches. It also makes it much easier to understand what you are saying, and a lot less painful to read over what's happened when one was gone. I'll stop ranting now, but I would strongly recommend we adopt and enforce this rule - ONLY in the roleplays, however. I don't care what you do on the rest of the site. ![]() 3. Lastly, no side conversation in the roleplays, unless absolutely necessary! Kind of tying into why I made this thread, as well as the reason behind #1. It makes it hard to read the roleplays without getting frustrated and sidetracked by reading conversations. All conversation can be made in this thread or via private message. Keep in mind I am not enforcing those rules in the roleplays yet - I want input and opinions before I make those changes. Feel free to say NO to any of them, but keep in mind these are rules that have been tested on other forums and really work to keep the roleplays readable and active. |

Clare....I think that having those rules for the RolePlays are great! Especially about one-line sentences. *Shakes Head* No offense to anyone but I HATE THAT!!!!!!! So, as far as I'm concerned; ENFORCE THESE RULES CLARE!!!

Thanks for your support, Naomi!
Let's get a few other people's input, though, first. I don't want to seem too bossy. XD |

I agree, however gramatical and spelling mistakes do happen to everyone, because this isn't an academic enviornment I say we lighten up on those guidelines.
Also,Naomi I'm assuming you changed your username? I was a little confused for a while ![]() |

So, let's reword it to say something along the lines of 'making a reasonable effort to use correct grammar and spelling.' I can live with the occasional error, but please, what's spell-check for? |

I agree. I understand that everyone makes mistakes but I hate 'text language'. I find it hard to understand and it puts me off reading a post. I think it's reasonable for people to make an effort to use correct spelling and grammar on the role-plays.

Okay. How about one more opinion and then we start enforcing?
