Feis America will no longer be sending out a printed magazine, but IDM has purchased the subscription base and will fill all existing subscriptions with IDM issues. Kathleen O'Reilly will contribute to IDM's North American section. We are very excited to bring her expertise to our publication.

I have a friend who subscribed to both - what happens in that case?

I think that the length of the Feis America Subscription will be added to the IDM subscription. It was on their FB page.

Press Release - Chicago, January 30, 2011 – Irish Dancing & Culture Magazine (IDM) today announced it has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire Feis America LLC's print publication, Feis America Magazine, and specifically its subscriber files. IDM's publisher, Denise Keane-Gillette, reports that the merging of Feis America's subscribers will work well within the current format of IDM. "Kathleen O'Reilly-Wild, publisher of Feis America Magazine, will contribute to IDM's North American section and we are thrilled to bring her expertise to our publication."

In the interim, IDM plans to rename its current North American News section "Feis America" to build upon the brand recognition that O'Reilly-Wild has tirelessly built over the last four years. During the transition time-period, O'Reilly-Wild will lend her expertise to IDM as an editorial and marketing consultant for the company. In addition, Feis America's current paid subscribers will begin receiving IDM in place of Feis America, beginning with the April 2012 issue of IDM.

"We are committed to completing Feis America's customers' subscriptions with IDM and hope they will love what they read and renew with us," explains Keane-Gillette.

The parties estimate that approximately 26% of Feis America's subscribers also subscribe to IDM. For customers who currently subscribe to both publications, IDM plans to extend those subscriptions for the remaining months of their Feis America subscription. Both companies are committed to making the transition as seamless as possible for the customers.

While its print magazine ends with the January/February 2012 issue delivered only as a pdf to subscribers today, Feis America LLC, based in Niantic, Connecticut, will remain 100% owned by O’Reilly-Wild and husband Bill Wild. In addition to consulting with IDM, O'Reilly-Wild will continue as Irish Dance Editor for IrishCentral.com with her up to the minute North American Irish dance news online. Irish Central is the largest resource for everything Irish online including Irish news, Irish entertainment, Irish sports, Irish cultural roots, and Irish food.

O'Reilly-Wild said, "We are committed to working closely with IDM to bring Feis America style to its North American News section. We look forward to collaborating to continue our celebration of Irish dancing in North America with IDM, on IrishCentral.com and with our friends on FaceBook."

Any issues remaining on a FEIS America sub will be added to your IDM sub. Do keep in mind that they were bi-monthly - so if you had one year left of Feis America, that would be 6 extra issues of IDM.
