Default Oireachtas Placing Judging COnfusion

uh, so at the last oireachtas, one judge overall placed me 7th, the other 10th, and another 28th... it really sucked

Yeah, when you are competing against 100 other dancers, the judges are bound to see the scores in different lights. When competing at this level, all of the dancers are very good and it may come down to personal taste (which looks like it varied quite a bit) for the final scores.

My teacher says that in championships, the judges hardly ever all agree on who is the best.

The thing I've noticed is angles. One judge sitting in the middle may not notice that while traveling you didn't cross your feet, however, the judge sitting in the corner may have. Each judge sits at a different angle and therefore sees different things. That's why one judge may have placed you high, but the other judge didn't.

that happens. judges like different styles of dancing and not all of them have the same point of view. your marks will usually be all over the place. like once at the oireachtas one judge gave me 5th and one gave me 48th. it all depends on what kind of dancers they like. every dancer has their own style.
