1. You could raffle off some valuable family items! then spend the $ from the raffle tickets on the dress! LOL (Don't you dare try that!)
2. You could try selling off your design of a solo dress to dress designers. Tey're always looking for new ideas.
3. At Christmas, ask for a solo dress savings from extended family.
4. Cut back on your expenses at places like feis. if your parents offer to pay a certain amount of $ for a T-shirt or something, ask them if they would rather like to put that $ into your dress savings.
5. Start shopping for dresses now-early or not. The best way to earn $$ for a solo dress is to stay motivated as to what it is that you want and what it is that your dream dressmaker is charging. Then remind yourself of that when you hit a dead end and want to give up.

Hi,

A perfect way to earn money for a solo dress is simply to dance for it. What I used to do was making contact with Irish folkbands without dancers. They are really happy when you want to dance with them, because it's good for their band. And when you find the right band, maybe you can join their show definitely. I was also looking for performances and now I'm in a theatreshow!

Another thing I would do is giving workshops Irish dance at primary schools.

And I also work in a restaurant on friday and saturday evenings

I'm not sure how old you are so this may not be an option. You could get a job if you could. It may not work with scheduling and stuff tho. Otherwise, im not that helpful. Good luck tho. Show me your dress when you qualify and buy it.
