hey guys ive been dancing for 3 years now, going on 4 in january and i am in prizewinner in all my dances except my hornpipe. I cant seem to get first, always second, which is SO frustrating. Even in syracuse, my score was 86 and the first place winner, her score was 86.5
do you have any tips for me to get better? what do they love to see in hornpipes, thanks ![]() |

Hornpipe is a hard dance to master!
Make sure all of your 1, 2s are nice and clean and that your croosing is good. Make sure that you are getting in all of your lifts! Good luck! ![]() |

OK slow has lots of lifts and since it is slower, the judges watch to see if all of your beats are clean.

since the person who one only won by .5, it sounds like your dancing was pretty much equal, but the judge had to base his/her decision on something else. Make sure that your presentation is as nice as it can be, that you look super confident, and that you show this to the judge on the stage. It sounds like your dancing is there, just prove to the judge that you are ready to win!!
