Default what is an open platform?

i do festival dancing and usually we just call the competitions festivals but recently i wen to an open platform festival it was abit different but what is the idea of it cause i ehar lots of other federations use them?

open platform is when any dancer from any organisation can entre, even dancers who are not with a cretified school can compete, an comisuin and an comhdhail do not use open platform, but others like WIDA CRDM and CAID do, so if you see adverts for anyone of these orgs then you can entre
