Talking Hello from Georgielocks

Hi, I'm Georgielocks - my real name being Carrie-Ann. I'm pretty new to the IDM forums but would love you all to say hello!

I'm Mum to two dancing daughters and one non-dancing son (two left feet!) and learned to dance myself at the ripe old age of 27! I'm quite a bit older than that now and haven't been able to dance for about 5 years due to a foot injury. I live in hope that I'll be able to get back to it some time soon!

Some of you might know me through my vendor status, either at Feisanna or my online & eBay shops (http://.georgielocksirishdanceshop.com or http://.stores.ebay.co.uk/georgie...ish-dance-shop). I've just placed my first ad in IDM - you'll see it in the January issue - I'm so excited!!

Do stop by my profile and add me to your buddy list, Irish Dance takes over our lives more and more every year!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
Love Georgielocks xx

Merry Christmas and happy new year!! pass that onto the girls too! They looked lovely in the mag by the way! Do you sell those two toned wigs like one of your daughters was wearing in the photo shoot??

Hi!

Thanks for the greetings! I'm now struggling to motivate myself to get some work done after the holiday!

Sorry, I don't do the two-tone wigs. That one is a Melanie Gammage Lady Jane Senior; I got it cheap from the US from a shop that were discontinuing selling wigs from the UK due to the expense (I think I paid about £10 including p&p!) It's exactly the right colour for Georgie with her two-coloured hair do but I wouldn't pay full price for it - it feels horrible! She'll be going back to an Erin from Celtic Creations when she changes her hair colour in the next month or two! I rarely sell my daughters' old wigs on because they have a habit of changing their hair colour! Hannah is planning on having purple for the underneath section next - I hope she's not expecting a wig to match! At last count she had 4 full wigs, a pony-tail wig and at least 3 different coloured bun wigs! Georgie's a bit behind with only 2 full wigs and 4 bun wigs!

Their teacher is about to insist on all dancers intermediate and above having full wigs. Fortunately for me she really likes the Celtic Creations wigs, as these are the ones I sell!

Hi. You know its never too late to introduce your son to Irish Music and Culture. Every Feis needs a good Musician!!! I have a sister who also dances but plays traditional Irish Fiddle although she was classically trained at age 8 for 3 years.

My son was introduced to Irish music and culture from the age of 7! He danced for a whole hour at the age of 8 and has avoided most of it ever since! He comes to the local Irish Festival every summer to help me set up my stall and he will come to watch his sisters when they are performing but not when they are competing (much too boring!). He did have to spend one of his birthdays at a feis and really wasn't very impressed! He won't even come to the Nationals any more!

He's not at all musical either, he doesn't even have enough rhythm for his sister's drum kit. He has Asperger's Syndrome and will not learn anything that doesn't interest him. Oh well, you can't win them all! At least he is proud of his sisters' achievements!
