Question TIP TOES :p

Does anyone have any advice on getting right up high on your toes? I can do it easily, i just forget. Anyone have any idea how i can drum it in so that it happens without me thinking about it?

Apparently in the last feis i dance amazingly but my flat feet let me down. Any advice would be greatly welcomed

do you mean just standing on your toes or dancing on the balls of your feet and not your heels?

at my dance class we do these exercises:
first exercise: cross your feet in the regular position (like your about to dance), stand on the ball of your feet for 4 counts, then go down for 4...repeat this a lot then change to the next foot
second exercise: cross feet, then stand on the ball of your feet and with one foot in front of the other (don't change feet) walk 4 counts and stop and cross your other foot in front then walk 4 counts

i hope these help. do them to warm up at the feis too!

Colz, I was reading this and I have the same problem! my teachers are always telling me "higher on your toes" and I can do it, I just forget to while dancing...but the fact that I have absolutley FLAT feet might have aomething to do with it as well...
