CRN irish open 2009 in the mag?

heyy just wondering if there's going to be any news in the magazine about this years CRN Irish Open Championships?

It said on the IDM Blog that it will be in the June or July issue. I forget which!

It's in the July magazine. I t has all the results along with a nice little article summing up all of the events.

I've seen it too. It's nice but--and this might just be me-- it could have been way more expanded. I mean, the Worlds of An comisiun get a two part story with lots of picture etcetc. CRN is not some amaturistic organisation, the Irish Open Championships are as important to us as the Worlds are for An Com dancers. We have to qualify too--we have National/Regional Championships in every region that are as important as An Com oireachtas or the NANs. CRN is growing bigger every year,-- for example, there are schools as far as in China and in Holland there are more CRN schools than An com(and ID is really small in Holland) --the standard of dancing at this year's championships has never been so high, the president of the organisation even confirmed this. Im sure im not lying when I say that all dancers had tremendous weekends, whether they won or not. the magazine is a great way to promote irish dancing and it's organisations and I feel it would be fairer if CRN would get more attention.

Remember that the magazine can only print articles that get sent to them. I am sure Lucy would love it if someone from CRN sent them lots of information to print! They certainly do not favour one organisation over another - perhaps there are just more people from An Coimisiun who send in pictures and interesting bits of info. Do the other organisiations invite IDM to have a stall at their events? That would also help.

i guess you're right but you have to admit IDM itself heads out more to An com competitions than CRN comps

I'm sure they will visit every event they get invited to, if they are able. It would not be in the magazine's interest to favour one organisation over another. They want all the readers they can get, and that means dancers all over the world!
