Question Other activities for ID?

I have a question: Does anyone do ballet, yoga, pilates, etc. outside of irish dance class to help improve your dancing? if so, has it helped? thanks!

I do not do any of those activities listed, but I really like to run. It seems that Irish dancers are naturally great at running. But, runners often hurt themselves and it is very hard on your knees. If you do decide to run, make sure you strech and ice and take care of yourself.
Hope this helps!

I take ballet, tap and jazz, and when I got my first pair of ghillies, my mom called the guy that owns Corr's Irish Shoes to ask him what he thought my foot size would be (I'm in America, so our sizes are different from UK/Irish sizes, which is what Corr's sells), and they ended up getting into a conversation and he says that ballet really helps with Irish dance.
I don't know if it's true, but I've noticed that in my beginner's class (this might make me sound stuck up...), I seem to be a lot better than most of the other girls, because I catch on to the steps quicker and get better at them faster than the other girls.
So I'm guessing that ballet probably does help.

Took ballet, tap and modern before ID. Can't really say it helped!
If you want something to improve your ID, just take up extra keep-fit activities cause stamina is key to a good performance. XD

I taught myself Ballet since I was 8 up untill I was 13. I think it did help a lot when I started teaching myself irish because my turnout was fairly good (not meaning to brag, anyway it could've been better!) and I could kick my legs pretty high and jump high plus I was quite fit so I sure do reckon it helped! Oh and I had pretty good posture.
