Also when you are really working toe work you tend to get huge blisters on the balls of your feet and the tops of your toes. So you might want to use something like an ouch pouch that ballerinas use for pointe shoes.
oh ouch pouches are the BEST! I can't dance without them!

If u have shoes that aren't very flexible for toe walks, you should bend them back and place them under your matress. Or you can try leather softener. you can even use shaving cream to break them in for toe walks by first slathering it onto your shoes and let them sit overnite then in the morning, use a rag to take the excess off. Hope that helps!!

i'm going to start practisin overtoe soon because next year will be my first year of being allowed to. i am extremeley blister prone and i originally bought my ouch pouches for my soft shoes but have JUST started wearing with my hard shoes. what is taco toes? coz i have really weird toes that sort of curl down and i cant flatten them or stretch them out which makes it really hard to do demi pointe. do you know what this could be?
thanks, orla x

I have a lot of toes in my set so I know where your comming from. You don't want your shoe to be big on you you actually want them to be smaller so you'll have better support. When you go on your toes pull up from your core as much as you can and think really tight. I hope that this helps.

I agree with Gillian. I have one more thing to add, too. Go to your kitchen counter and grab it. Make sure there is nothing else around you. Now, hold on to it and stand on your toes and just walk on them. Hold on as long as you want. Then, when you're confident enough, let go of the counter and try walking around on them. They're pretty easy once you do then for a while. I've been doing them since January or so and I'm pretty good on them. I hope this helps!

Before you are able to do those Toe Stands PLEASE make sure that your Hard Shoes are fully flexible and have be broken in ALL the WAY or else you might do something funny to your Foot!If it is your 1st Time doing Toe Walk have a Friend help you to keep your balance and to make sure you are doing it right!Have them there just for EXTRA Support if you need it and if you do start to feel like you are going to fall Grab onto your friend...You should try and see how long you can stay on them and keep doing it often and by the time you know it you will be able to do it by your self...Then after that you should try doing your 4,5,6,7's on your Toe Walks! It really helps...But make sure you get the Balance down or else the WORST will happen! And just try walking on them that helps out ALOT!And by the time you know it you will be doing very good Toe Stands/aka Walks!

Wink I am on my toes so....

just strech your shoes out all the wat. And hold on to something and practice. Than go down and back up, but put more on your toes. Practice untill you can do it without anything. Thats what I did, and I get comments about toes all the time. Or if your too scared, ask your teacher if you can do something else like heels. Good luck!

Hey, yeah this is a late reply but I thought I'd answer anyway.... if you fold your hard shoes over and tie them off with a rubber band or something that will hold, and then put them in the freezer over night, they will become more flexible! I thought my teacher was mental for suggesting it but I tried it and it actually worked really well
