Why do judges @ feiseanna ALWAYS look at how high your toes are in hardshoe+soft shoe? Is it just a thing? Do judges go through "phases" about what they look at when judging? I NEED HINTS AND HELPFUL TIPS!!!!!!!!

I think judges look at how high on your toes you are because it makes you look more graceful and helps distinguish your sounds in hard shoes......
I dont know about phases but I know different judges care more about certain things, like some take off a lot of points for not have prefectly crossed feet...... One thing that will help you remember to stay up on your toes is putting duct tape loops on your heels and whenever the duct tape comes off you have to start your dance over.... |

That's a good one. I'm gonna used that trick when I practice. Sometimes I put like white lines on the indside heels of my hardshoes to help me with my turnouts. When I see the white lines then I'm doing it right if not I know that I need to turnout more. |

Well...one of the categories that judges judge in is foot placement.
This would include not only heel height, but cross, turnout, and precision of feet. |

I think im lucky..i have experience from ballet.
if you're REALLY serious about going higher up on your toes, try ballet for a year(or 4!). it really helped my heel height, but once you quit in lowers(just a bit!) XOXO ~~Greekie~~ ![]() |
