Ahhhh!!!

This has nothing to do with Irish dance but... I just got my bottom braces on! They Hurt!!!! Its going to take some time to get used to them! Do you have braces? You can reply with anything on this thread!!!!!

PS: I did this in purple cuz thats the color I got!!!

Poor you! When my daughter got her braces we had a "cele-brace-tion". She invited all her friends over and they had all kinds of soft foods like toasted marshmallows dipped in grated chocolate, and they all compared the colours on their braces. It was a great evening and it made er forget the pain for a while. Good luck, and think of how beautiful you'll be!

Ok, so what I did when I got my braces on I just kept on taking Advil. It really does work! I know how much they hurt! I hope you get better and just think, your teeth will be so amazingly straight!

I hope your Teeth feel better sooon!Believe me I know how it feels!I had mine on for almost FIVE YEARS!And I finally got them off 2 1/2 Weeks ago!Just think of it this way...Thank your Parents that you are fortunate to get Braces and even though it will HURT ALOT...It will trun out goood in the long run!And remember to eat those Soft Foods and don't eat anything that is tooo hard that might break something with you Braces!I have done that LOADS of times!Ha Ha!Goood Luck and I can't wait to see the Results!

oooh poor you!! braces are the worst... iv had my now for almost 2 years and i just got the worst news ever.. i know im gonna sound really selfish but.. my twin sis and i got our braces on at the same time... we both had to wear expanders (which are terrible) so we didnt wear the wires for a while but we had the brackets on. i got my wires on first and i was ahead of her and a week ago the orhto told us shes gettin her braces off in 2 weeks and they dont even know when ill get mine off... congrats to her but it makes me mad cause ive had mine on longer... im not trying to be selfish but its soo annoying. anyhoo on the bright side now youll have perfect teeth when you get them off!!

Thanks again for all of you that posted!! The advil is helping! And to dancin gal if you see this My older sis got hers on almost half a year after mine! Shes scheduled to get them off in like a month!! I have had my top ones for more than a year and a half!!!

Heres my story! I started at four years old! I got my first appliance(and on Valentines Day!)!I got an expander than about a year later I got another version. I got my braces Nov. 5 2008(i think) and still have them today! I had this tooth that would not come down! The left it to see if it would come down on its own. Guess what!!! IT NEVER DID!!!!! I had to get oral surgery!!! It was awful!!! I had stitches and a bracket way up in my gums! Finally the tooth came down! I got the bracket off and then had normal top braces(I started with just four brackets in the beginning). Then today I got my bottom ones on as you now. Today june 17th 2010 more than 8YEARS later!!

So I have had expanders, caps on my front teeth, oral surgery, top braces, more top braces, bottom braces and more that I don't even remember!!

Hence the AHHHHHH!!!!!!

I had the same Problem!I got my Braces off way before my Brother and then he got is off before me!I was toooo MAD that he did!but it just depends on how BAD your Teeth are and then hence the Day cam when I FINALLY got mine off!And I don't mind the Retainer at ALL!You get sooo use to it and I would rather wear a Retainer then have Braces!Anyways...Just think of the GOOD ooutcome that will come afterwards!You will LOVE it!

And to irishdancepower....I feel oh so bad for you!To go through that much!But think of the outcome!Just think of that you will be there very sooon!Just do EVERYTHING the Ortho tells YOU and you will be fine!I wish you the best of luck!

i guess it could be worse!! i should be happy that Ill be getting mine off not to long after my sis. i cant wait to see how straight my teeth will be... its so gonna be worth it!

I am getting braces and an expander on Monday and I am really nervous and eager. I have heard so many "horror" stories about how dreadful they are...especially the expander.
