Story of Your Design
Orla is an Irish name meaning Golden Princess, the dress highlights the gold that brings the dress to life.
The blue checker design I brought to life from some of the older traditional style school dresses, but now in a more modernized way. The blue in the dress is because after researching I found out that long before green became the dominant national color of Ireland, blue was used for centuries as a primary heraldic color representing Ireland.
The dress is covered in matching blue and gold gems, along with pearls to make it precious and timeless.
My design of the dress is embracing the way our world changes, while still holding on to some important parts of history.
