Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance

Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance offers high-quality Irish Dance instruction for recreational and competitive dancers ages 4 and up in Newtown, Danbury and Southbury, Connecticut, serving families throughout the Greater Danbury area and surrounding communities.

The academy is directed by former professional Irish Dancers Christina Dolzall-Ashurst, TCRG, and Craig Ashurst, ADCRG, who bring extensive competitive, teaching and professional performance experience to their students. Both performed internationally with Riverdance, while Christina also performed with Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance.

Classes are available for dancers of all abilities, from young beginners taking their first Irish Dance steps through advanced and championship-level competitors. Students can pursue Irish Dance recreationally or competitively, with opportunities to participate in solo and team competitions, performances and community events.

Ashurst Academy dancers have achieved success at the New England Regional Oireachtas, North American Irish Dancing Championships, All-Ireland Championships and World Irish Dancing Championships. The school combines this championship-level training with a supportive environment focused on confidence, teamwork, friendships and a lifelong love of Irish Dance.

Ashurst Academy of Irish Dance is a CLRG-affiliated school and a member of the New England Region.
