Cleary Irish Dance

Cleary Irish Dance has been sharing the traditions and culture of Ireland with the Los Angeles community since 1988. Founded and directed by Margaret Cleary, SDCRG, the school welcomes dancers of all ages and levels, from beginners through championship dancers, as well as adults and returning dancers.

Students learn traditional reels, jigs and hornpipes in both soft and hard shoes, with opportunities to participate in solo and céilí competition and performances throughout Southern California. Competition is encouraged for interested dancers but is not required.

Under Margaret's direction, Cleary dancers have achieved success at the Regional, North American and World Championship levels, including World Championship titles and medals. The school has a particularly strong tradition of team dancing and regularly qualifies dancers to represent the Western U.S. Region at the World Irish Dancing Championships.

Cleary Irish Dance also has a long history of community and professional performances, including appearances at the Hollywood Bowl, Disneyland and Irish cultural events throughout the Los Angeles area.
