McAleer - Paulson School of Irish Dance

For more than 50 years, the McAleer-Paulson School of Irish Dance has shared the tradition and culture of Irish Dance with generations of dancers throughout Delaware and the surrounding area. The school welcomes dancers of all ages and levels, from new beginners discovering Irish Dance for the first time to experienced competitors.

The school's rich Irish Dance tradition has its roots in Ireland, where Alice McAleer, aunt of Veronica McAleer McCrea, established the original McAleer School of Irish Dance. After emigrating from Belfast in 1967, Veronica McAleer McCrea, ADCRG, continued the family tradition by establishing her school in Delaware.

Today, Veronica McAleer McCrea, ADCRG and Eileen Paulson, TCRG lead the McAleer-Paulson School with a commitment to nurturing each dancer's abilities, poise and self-confidence while cultivating a lifelong appreciation for Irish Dance and culture.

Throughout its history, the school has prepared dancers to compete at the World Irish Dance Championships, North American Irish Dance Championships and Regional Oireachtas Championships, while maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for dancers at every level. Competitive success is celebrated, but so are the friendships, sportsmanship, confidence and sense of community that develop through Irish Dance.

New beginners are welcome, and the school offers opportunities for dancers interested in competition, performance and becoming part of the McAleer-Paulson Irish Dance community.

Classes are currently offered in Claymont, Newark and Lewes, Delaware.
