The Best of Belfast

In recent years, Belfast has emerged as one of Ireland's most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities, attracting major cultural, sporting, and entertainment events from around the world. The city is set for an exciting few years ahead.

In August 2026, Belfast will host Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, the world's largest celebration of Irish music and culture, an event expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors. The city has also been selected to host the 2027 CLRG World Irish Dancing Championships, welcoming dancers and families from across the globe.

Before those events arrive, Belfast and the surrounding area will welcome competitors and families attending the 2026 An Chomhdháil All Ireland Championships at the Eikon Centre in Lisburn from July 23-26.

Whether you are traveling for the championships or simply exploring the North of Ireland as part of a longer holiday, Belfast offers a wealth of attractions worth discovering. From world-class museums and historic castles to vibrant markets, fascinating history, and breathtaking coastal scenery, the region provides something for every member of the family.

Having visited Belfast numerous times over the years,  I am proud to share some of our favourite spots to visit in the Belfast area. Check out my top list here
